Got this photo from “You do You” book by Fellexandro Ruby. Worth to read!

I just read about productivity book whereas the title is “You do you” by Fellexandro Ruby. The book is addressed to someone in their 20-ish. This book tells us everything about life, especially pursuing a career and balancing life with the “Ikigai” perspective (or maybe a concept).

So, you might be wondering what “Ikigai” is. It is a term in Japanese word that means “a reason for being”. Why do we choose to live? why we choose to take risks, here and there. Ikigai itself is a concept where the thing that we love, the thing that the world needs, the thing that we can be paid for, and the thing that we are good at are combined into the reason why we are here.

I totally agree with this concept, although at some points, I think we should figure out what kind of “things” to pursue the Ikigai concept in our lives. First, we need to know what kind of career we love but at the same time, the world needs that so that we can be paid for that. I think it is not that easy though. Not every job is mostly needed by the world, right?

For me, the Ikigai concept could be one of my destination concepts for being. We don’t have to figure it out all by tonight, but at least we are trying our best to reach it. Just work at our own pace, do our best, and let the rest be done by The Creator.

Ikigai itself is not only for pursuing a career, though we can apply this concept to many things. We could apply it to our daily tasks, we could apply for relationships with others, or we could apply it to any life choices (if needed).
